Leaving Edublogs for now… March 15, 2010
Posted by kjwinsper in : Uncategorized , add a commentWell, it’s been a long time since I posted anything on this blog. This doesn’t mean that we haven’t been having fun and working hard to integrate technology and web 2.0 tools into the curriculum!! I’ve been posting a lot of my students’ work in other places and linking directly to it or embedding it directly in my wiki and/or website. As we do more with technology, I’m beginning to realize how hard it is to keep track of all of the ‘stuff’ we create! I’m trying to streamline and post most things in ONE place rather than several different areas. The problem I’m having is with cost and space. Feel free to visit us at www.teacherweb.com/ma/plymouth/winsper or itsallgood.wikispaces.com to check out what we’ve been up to! I’m hoping to keep all of the projects here as well. Feel free to send me an email if you have any thoughts or questions too! kwinsper@plymouth.k12.ma.us
Best wishes and thanks for visiting!
March comes in like a lion! March 4, 2009
Posted by kjwinsper in : Uncategorized , add a commentWe started the week with a day off from school thanks to a winter storm that blanketed the region in snow. First graders in Mrs. Rogers’ Class at WES have shared their Famous Faces of West School, a beloved annual writing assignment in 1R. After using an iPod and Belkin Tunetalk to record the students reading, I’ve combined the voices recordings with digital pictures the students drew of the VIPs. Visit the Grade 1 WES page to see the work!
February already? February 13, 2009
Posted by kjwinsper in : Uncategorized , add a commentI feel guilty. Vacation is upon us and I’ve neglected my blogs over the last few months. There really is no excuse other than we’ve been EXTREMELY busy in the lab!! I vow to make additions and changes on a more frequent basis from this day forward….
So, what have we been up to anyway? Kidspiration, Brainpop Jr, Microsoft Paint, Microsoft Word, Wordle and interactive websites to incorporate our SmartBoard are a some of the programs and activities we’ve been exploring in the lab. I hope to place some student work here in the near future.
Happy November! November 19, 2008
Posted by kjwinsper in : Uncategorized , add a commentWe have been extremely busy in the computer lab since the beginning of the school year. We’ve been working on many different activities: explored Everyday Math Online, the Starfall Website, Brainpop Jr., Type to Learn Jr., introduction to the SmartBoard, Microsoft Paint just to name a few! We recently recorded questions for President-Elect Obama using the iPods and voice recorders. I’m working on posting the questions on this blog so be sure to check back soon!
Welcome Back! September 13, 2008
Posted by kjwinsper in : Uncategorized , add a commentIt’s wonderful to be back to school after summer break. I’ve begun to meet with my classes and we’re excited to start working to integrate technology within their curriculum. I hope to build upon the lessons I developed last year and, if the students’ reactions are any indication, anything using the iPods and voice recorders will be a big hit!! I’m also eager to try to incorporate web 2.0 tools into my lessons. So, stay tuned!
Summer vacation! June 23, 2008
Posted by kjwinsper in : Uncategorized , add a commentIt’s been a wonderful first year for me as an instructional technology specialist in Plymouth! The pages of this blog and my other It’s All Good blogs showcase the different ways we successfully integrated technology throughout the curriculum. As many other teachers will do during their summer breaks, I’ll spend some time reflecting, evaluating and planning for next year. I plan to leave the blogs in tact, for now, for others to explore. Thank you for visiting and I’ll be posting again in the fall! Enjoy!

Mother’s Day Messages! May 8, 2008
Posted by kjwinsper in : May , 1 comment so farThe first graders at WES have a wonderful tradition of inviting their mothers and other care-givers into school for a Mother’s Day presentation on the Friday before Mother’s Day. To celebrate this year’s festivities, the students’ messages to their moms will be shared on our blog! Be sure to visit the Grade 1 WES page to listen to the students!
Slideshows are back! April 14, 2008
Posted by kjwinsper in : Uncategorized , add a commentI’m not sure whether it was a problem with this edublogs site or the bubbleshare site, but our slideshows are back online! I was able to get the basic shows and not the scrolling pictures to appear on our blog pages so I’m sticking with those for now. You just never know with technology and that’s why I enjoy it so much! In the end, it’s all good…
